Banana Blueberry Oatmeal Smoothie

Lately, I haven't been able to stomach coffee. I don't what it is, but one day 2 weeks ago it just started making me nauseous and now I can't even stand the taste of it. (Not pregnant!) I tried this morning with the same results. Tea just isn't the same, in my opinion, but I'm going to make my way over to David's Tea on Friday to check out some options, because I NEED caffeine during the work week. This morning was different because I opted for making a smoothie!

I came across the "Lauren Conrad Oatmeal Smoothie" on Pinterest (which linked me to a Martha Stewart website) and made my own version.

I used:

  • 1 small portion of Activia vanilla yogurt
  • 1 frozen banana (microwaved for 45 seconds)
  • a handful of oats
  • a handful of frozen blueberries
  • 1 tbsp of honey
  • about 5 ice cubes
  • a little bit of water
I put everything in the magic bullet cup, then I added the blueberries, and THEN the ice cubes on top (so they'd hit the magic bullet blades first). After, I poured it all into my new mason jar tumbler from Wal Mart! Isn't it devine?!

Sorry for the wacky ingredients amount. I don't really measure what I put in, and it usually tastes good. Except mango and peanut butter. Don't do mango and peanut butter.

Yesterday, I decided to take off my gel nails (ouch!) If you noticed in the picture above. I used my favorite nail polish brand, Julep, and painted my nails using Tracy!

Do you use Julep? What's your favorite color?

Enjoy!

Tiffzippy!

Hi friends! I haven't been around in a little while, but I've been so busy with work and I've been sick, so blogging has come third in the ranks regarding my health and my job. I also have a giveaway being planned for very soon! I'm just hoping to change the layout of the blog before I reveal the new name. It's all being planned, so have no fear!

Anyways, I wanted to share a fun prize! I entered a giveaway on Alysha's blog, Habitual Homebody (she has the cutest pups!), last week and I won!
I won some flat note cards from the lovely shop, Tiffzippy! I got to choose the color and the dog cutout in the corner. I picked a lab, as our dog, Gunner, is a black lab/american bull dog.

These are perfect for sending sweet notes to my friends and family in British Columbia (we miss them so much), and to my pen pals in California. I can't wait to use them tonight!

Hello March!

Heeelllllooooo March! I'm excited for what is to come for us this month, and I'm glad that February is over. We had a pretty good month, but I am totally over the -35*C weather and snow. I want to be able to wear my maxi skirts without freezing my legs and tush off while outside covering recess and lunch breaks!

February started out pretty awesome, as I got to see my nephews, my friend, and her baby! Last month also included a TON of cuddling with Gunner and Koshka.

I also finally changed my last name on my social insurance card. It's taken a while, but I HATE waiting at Service Canada. I always look up online and/or call to see what documents I will need, so then I go and they always say I needed something else. It's beyond frustrating, and they need to get their act together!

A Valentine's gift from a student. Valentine's day was fun this year because I work in a school. Lots of cards and treats were exchanged!
I also did some baking and cooking last month! I made some Gluten Free chocolate chip and almond banana bread!

This chicken recipe that I found on Pinterest was pretty delicious! The chicken was cooked just right, but the beans were withered and the potatoes undercooked. Next time, I would do separate dishes!

I've been treating myself to manicures once every 3-4 weeks and I'm loving it! Sometimes you just need to do something for yourself!

March has already been a rough month. We had a good weekend up until yesterday morning. My husband's car broke down on his way to work! We thought we were going to have to shell out a ton of money to either get it fixed or get a new vehicle, but our family saved our butts AGAIN! I seriously don't know what we would do without our families.

I'm looking forward to things going up from here! Only 18 working days until spring break ;)
