The Maxfield House

I figured it's been a while since I've been on here, but I want to change that. We're kiiiind of settled in, but I have more time to blog - I know that because I've had more time to play FarmVille (shhhh). Anywhos, I wanted to share some pictures of us living in our first home!!

Above is the first picture that I took of our house on possession day! The second one is all of us (Gunner, Rob, and myself) lounging on the couch watching TV.

Since I've been doing Whole30 (a whole post coming on that pretty soon!), I've had a few instances of meal prep. Usually I just cut up my veggies and prep my meat right before I cook, but I had a night out in the two truck with my dad so I prepped dinner, lunch, and then dinner for the next day. While on Whole30, I usually have more energy. One of the days, I came home from work and organized our kitchen. Before Whole30, I would have been cranky and super tired after work. I love it!

Our backyard view after a heavy snowfall. Seriously, it all happened over night. Ugh. Well, eating healthier can be, and is, tasty. Beat the chip cravings with a bowl of blueberries, strawberries, and banana. Sprinkle a little cinnamon on top and you're golden :)

Gunner is loving the fact that we have our own place. He runs around and always, always gets in to mischief when he's not laying on the couch or on top of us. We're slowly making our home a home. Rob got an area rug for our living room and it already feels cozier. I'm looking forward to making our place even homier.

We bought a...

...house! I've been so absent from a la Maxfield but for a good reason! This was definitely stressful, but it was worth it :)

We had viewed 2 other places and then this one, on the second Sunday of January. The first place we viewed was a mobile home in a trailer park that had had a ton of renovations done to it. Turns out, Rob would have to redo the electrical work, and then you have to pay a lot rent AND a mortgage every month. Totally not worth it! The second place was a brand new condo/townhome that I fell in love with...but it didn't have ANY yard. It definitely wasn't ideal because we have Gunner, and eventually we'll have children.

Our first home required a bunch of renovations. It's a half duplex bungalow and I don't think I could love it more! We taped, primed, and painted for like, a whole week. We moved in this previous Sunday (Feb 8) and are just about settled in. I can't wait for my Costco run this weekend so I can stop living off pizza and cans of soup!

Anywho, I'm sure you want to see some pictures. These pictures are from our last viewing before we got possession on January 30th. I'll be sure to post some updated pictures when we're settled and have finished the main renovations - like putting baseboards on and finishing the flooring.
